This week we will be learning all about multiplication in maths, and today we learned about arrays.
We found out that 2 x 6 could also be understood as ‘2 rows of 6’ – and that we could use peg boards to help us create these rows to find the answer.
We even tested our partner’s skills in a game – we had to pick a multiplication question but hide it from our partner. Then we has to tell them how to arrange their pegs on their peg boards, and they had to work out what our number sentence was!
Finally, we practised showing our arrays on paper by drawing them as dots. I was so impressed by how confident you all were!
Here is a sneak peek at what we will be doing tomorrow – can you work out what multiplication number sentence the cakes are showing?
